Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 18, 2026

Horse Horizon (horsehorizon.com) collects only the information it needs to run the site and answer your messages. This policy explains what that information is, how we use it, and what you can ask us to do with it. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

Horse Horizon is an educational website about horses: breeds, anatomy, hoof care, riding, ownership costs, history and related topics. Questions about this policy can go to contact@horsehorizon.com.

2. Information We Collect

Information you send us

If you write to us through the contact form or by email, we receive your name, your email address and whatever you put in the message. If you comment on an article, we receive the name, email address and website you enter, plus the IP address you commented from. You choose what to share. Please do not send us sensitive details such as payment card numbers or government ID numbers.

Information collected automatically

When you open a page, our web host and analytics tools record technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that sent you here, and your approximate location based on your IP address. This data does not name you. We use it to see which pages help readers and which ones need work.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To run, secure and improve the website
  • To reply to your emails and contact form messages
  • To display your comments on articles
  • To decide which topics to write about next
  • To block spam, bots and other abuse
  • To meet legal requirements

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your messages for marketing, and we do not add your email address to any mailing list unless you ask to join one.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Horse Horizon uses them to keep the site working, to count visits, and to remember simple settings. Services we use may also set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still load without them, though some features may not work as intended.

5. Analytics & Advertising

We use or may use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to measure traffic and search performance. If advertisements appear on Horse Horizon, advertising partners such as Google may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can review and change your ad settings at adssettings.google.com.

6. Affiliate Links

Some articles link to products on retailer websites. Some of those links are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission. The price you pay stays the same. The retailer may place a cookie in your browser to track the click. Once you leave Horse Horizon, the retailer’s own privacy policy applies.

7. Who We Share Information With

We share information only with the companies that help us run the site (web hosting, analytics, spam filtering and email), with authorities when the law requires it, and when we need to protect the site or its readers from fraud or abuse. These providers may store data on servers in other countries.

8. How Long We Keep Information

We keep contact messages for as long as we need them to handle your request, then delete them. Comments stay on the article until you ask us to remove them or we take them down. Analytics data is kept for the period set in the analytics tool.

9. Your Rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a specific purpose. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, local law gives you these rights formally. To make a request, email contact@horsehorizon.com from the address you used when you contacted us. We may ask you to confirm who you are, and we will reply within 30 days.

10. Children

Horse Horizon is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information, please email us at contact@horsehorizon.com and we will delete it promptly.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect the information we hold, including HTTPS and access controls on the site’s admin area. No website can promise complete security, so we cannot guarantee that information sent to us will never be accessed by someone else.

12. Links to Other Websites

Our articles link to outside websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for how they handle your information. Read their privacy policies before you share anything.

13. Changes to This Policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site.

14. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, email contact@horsehorizon.com or visit the Contact Us page.
